On
the night of the blue moon the dancers of the forest get together and send back
to the sky the fallen stars. They toss back the opportunity for new wishes that
can be made on the stars that fall. The forest dancers are giving us a renewed
opportunity to make a wish. But they dance only on the blue moon. It might be
noted that after each blue moon a great number of wishes come true. So if you
wish on a falling star on the night after a blue moon you will have a great
possibility of the wish being granted. That is the story of once in a blue moon.

In
Lebanon Mo. we have a part of town that is referred to as old town. It is so
called because when the rail road came through the city moved from what is now
old town to a new area closer to the rail road. the New Lebanon grew while the
old town of Lebanon seemed to wither. Years later the two towns grew together
and became one with a section being called old town. Today Old Town is every
bit as prosperous and healthy as the new Lebanon. In old town was our first
upper level school, kind of upper high school. it was called The Academy, and
until the early 1900s it was part dormitory and part school. This painting is
of The Academy
